يجوز في #عسى أن تكون فعلًا تامًّا (تحتاج فاعلًا) وأن تكون فعلًا ناقصًا (تحتاج اسمًا وخبرًا) إذا جاء قبلها اسم ظاهر، فإن جاء بعدها ضمير يعود على هذا الاسم كانت ناقصة، مثل: المرأتان عستا أن تذهبا، فألف الاثنين ضمير متصل مبني على السكون في محل رفعٍ، اسم (عسى)، والمصدر المؤول في محل نصبٍ، خبر (عسى)
وإن لم يجئ بعد (عسى) ضمير يعود على الاسم الظاهر قبلها، تكون تامة، تقول: المرأتان عسى أن تذهبا، والمصدر المؤول في محل رفعٍ، فاعل
