Thank you for watching. In this video I work with ash wood to create a super thin platter. Ash is an open-grained wood allowing for embellishing waxes to change the colour of the grain. The wrist brace you see me wearing in some of the shots is just me trying out an idea to absorb shocks from the lathe as I usually have to record multiple videos in one go.

ماذا سيحدث إذا سكبنا الحمم البركانية، على زجاج مضاد للرصاص؟ دعونا نرى أولا ما يحدث مع الزجاج العادي، ينكسر بسهولة شديدة، تماما مثل الزجاج الموجود في نافذة السيارة.
ولكن ماذا عن الزجاج المقاوم للحريق، يتكون هذا الزجاج من عدة طبقات واقية محاطة بمادة هلامية مقاومة للحريق، والذي يذوب في النهاية، عند درجات حرارة عاليةٍ جدا. الطبقات المتعددة تمنع الحمم البركاني من اختراق الزجاج.
الآن دعونا نراقب الزجاج المضاد للرصاص، يتشقق الزجاج في البداية قليلا واحترق المنطة المُلامسة للحمم البركانية بشكلً كبير ولكن دون إحداث اي ثقبً للزجاج.
