اثبت العالماء ان سمك الجرى او القرموط كنوع منها من الاسماك الضاره وتعد من حيوانات القمامه فى المياه مهى تاكل كل شئ بما فيها الاسماك الميته والاوساخ والقاذورات وهى الاكثر خطوره من بين الاسماك الاخرى والتى ليس لها قشور وقال العلماء انها تعتبر ملوثه اذا قدرت كميه البكتيريا التى تحملها جسمها ب عشره ملايين للجرام الواحد فى حين ان اسماك الجرى تجاوزت هذه النسبه لانها تصل ل سبعه وعشرين مليون للجرام الواحد والاسماك التى ليس لها قشور هى الاكثر عرضه لحمل السموم الضاره والبكتيريا .
