ولو كانت البحار أعمق لامتصت المياه الزائدة ثاني أكسيد الكربون ولما وجد النبات كفايته ليعيش ويتنفس .

ولو كان الغلاف الهوائي أقل كثافة لأحرقتنا النيازك والشهب المتساقطة بدلًا من أن تستهلك هذه الشهب وتتفتت في أثناء اختراقها للغلاف الهوائي الكثيف كما يحدث حاليًا .

ولو زادت نسبة الأكسجين عما هي عليه حاليّاً في الجو لازدادت القابلية للاحتراق و لتحولت الحرائق البسيطة إلى انفجارات هائلة ..
